Don't think I have said particularly much about Portugal, and now I am getting ready to leave on my first (oh god) real trip to Asia (because I don't think crossing the bridge in Istanbul really counts). Needless to say there is a significant amount of anticipation and panic since I haven't been studying or packing or even mentally preparing myself for venturing into a strange new world alone and not seeing my family again until Christmas. And that's not even thinking about the pain of getting there: 3 hour flight + I think a 14 hour flight? + at least another 3.5 hours by train involving three different train lines. Anyway, I figure I should maybe check in before I disappear again. =PAnyway, some random stuff from the past six weeks:

And yes, that is pink hair. I went to get the roots touched up the other day, and lo and behold, the hairdressers made my hair straight! Hairdressers are a magical bunch. They are the only people in the world who can achieve this. Also that picture is dorky.
The other day we went to a local fair and found Batman. I wouldn't have pegged him as a two-seater, but I suppose the Bat works in mysterious ways. XD There was also a merry-go-round covered with porn. I wish I were kidding.
And now, as I disapprove of lists of books everyone should have read, I have here the relevant meme with the BBC's Big Read list, which is instead a poll of people's favorite books. I love how many children's books are on here. And the fact that I lived in England for part of my childhood means I've actually read a whole lot of them. =D If this were an American list, I doubt I'd have read nearly as many. (On the other hand, having not lived in England for 10 years now, it means that about half of the ones I haven't read are books I've never even heard of. Unless that is a completely mistaken judgment and I am just literarily inept all around! "Literarily" is a word, shut up.)

Meanwhile, turns out that the reason I haven't been in a relationship in at least four years is that I'm deathly terrified of them. Given what I write, this is perhaps... ironic.
Went to the zoo yesterday. I still sort of want to be a dolphin trainer. Oh, childhood ambitions.

This is lovely.Anyway, I just told my 9-year-old sister to lie about her age so she could register for Gaia Online. Am I setting a bad precedent? D= (I probably lied when I registered for the Pit way back when, assuming they actually required you to be 13 back then.)
...There isn't anything on Gaia that I should be concerned about her getting into, is there?

New layout is prettyful. Occasionally I think how nice it would be to make my own layouts from time to time, but then I remember that I needn't bother when everyone already does it so much better than me. =DI really will do some writing soon. I'm just still getting the "doing nothing" out of my system. (FFXII NEEDS TO BE UTTERLY COMPLETED IT DOES. NECROHOL DOWN. ONLY THREE MARKS, HENNE, AND PHAROS SUBTERRA TO GO. O rite and the crystal. Damn crystal. THIS IS SO TOTALLY WORTH MY TIME.)
Not doing anything means my diet need only consist of one meal a day + alcohol. Surely this is a good thing! (It is a very good meal, I swear.) Occasionally I also eat cake.

arks and I. Spent a good long day traipsing about location scouting. And by "location scouting," I mean, of course, for places for epic battle sequences, dramatic panoramic stills, and determining the proper sort of chase scenes. Lisbon, we determined, would be most suited for a parkour hero with a side of pole-vaulting, particularly as an expandable pole could also double as a weapon.Honestly, though, I think Sintra is where we made our real find, and it makes me so desperately wish I were one of those really good hardcore cosplayers who could do epic Zelda costumes, because damn if we didn't just find the most amazing place for a photoshoot EVER. Pena Palace grounds are enormous, and it was just one gorgeous incredible area after another: hillside steps to a rock-throne overlooking the sea; a statue high on a pile of rocks; a half-overgrown doorway to the hermit's cave; and a huge I-don't-know-what but we swear it's the entrance to the Water Temple. And that's before we even got to the palace itself--it has seriously got the coolest guard towers and entranceways I've ever seen, and I've been to a lot of castles and palaces. And like three minutes down the road is the Moorish Castle, if you'd prefer your setting to be the more ruinous, old stone, high-towers-and-parapets type fortress with a 360* panoramic view from the windswept Highest Tower. The more we saw, the more I wanted to pull on some big fluffy skirts and corsets and come back to take epic pictures. It would be so much fun.
So yes, sightseeing was fantastic, and I muchly look forward to further adventuring with my partner-in-crime in Madrid a few weeks hence. In the meantime, however, I've just at last had my first few real days of Vacation. By which I mean: days in which I did Nothing At All.
Of course, because dramatic irony is a must, these are also the two days in which I have been spectacularly ill and snivelly, but I don't let that get me down. Vaan doesn't know the meaning of the phrase. Then again, what Vaan does or doesn't know is hardly a good rule of thumb.
Finally, this not!fandom secret (from this post) is baffling but extremely flattering, and I would very much like to hug its maker. Also it makes me want to at least try to live up to the honor. Perhaps finishing that FE7 smut would be a good start. =3

Just in case some of you are worrying I have dropped off the face of the earth (yet again, I think I forgot to leave a warning): I have arrived safely home in Portugal with the illustriousarks, and we are careening around Lisbon and inaugurating the entire family into DC canon. Which is awesome, because now they cannot look at me funny when I babble about it. I think this is proof that arks can corrupt anybody. With anything. She's that talented.And, surprise surprise, my family apparently got Real Internet just before I arrived, so it could potentially be business as usual. But I think I may just find offline things to do instead. =D (Not that I don't love you guys. <3<3<3)

I don't know what made me dig out my Pokemon Movie 2 soundtrack today (I keep all my old CDs, shutup), but now I am crying with laughter listening to Roxas croon about how our parents will never understand how we communicate, or the oh so many things that we do and say. He says they don't really get what it's all about; no, they never can understand Pokemon.Thank you, Roxas. I'm so glad you're here to express this feeling for me.

Oh god. Sorry for putting you guys through that horrendous excuse for an essay, and thanks to those of you who responded (and caught glaring errors of fail). I rolled out of bed this morning and my first thought was, "What have I done?! D=" I'll probably end up deleting the entry pretty soon because it is that embarrassing. The only thing we needed out of that thing was the line "We are all afraid of being Roxas," which should be recorded for posterity. Out of context, of course.Four more days until DONE! Four days which involve two exams and an eight-page paper, but. FOUR DAYS!!!
